Pipestone County Commissioner Meeting
January 10, 2012

            The Pipestone County Commissioners met with Chairman Jerry Remund, Commissioners Marge DeRuyter, Marvin Tinklenberg, Harold (Butch) Miller, and Bill Johnson.  County Attorney Jim O’Neill and Administrator Sharon Hanson were also present.  Chairman Remund called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Motion by Tinklenberg, seconded by Miller to approve the agenda.  Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Miller, seconded by Johnson to approve the consent agenda as follows:

  1. Minutes of January 3, 2012 Organizational Meeting
  2. Commissioner Warrants/Meal Reimbursements in the amount of $589,674.03 excluding payment of $19.90 to Marge DeRuyter for internet charges and Hospital Warrants in the amount of $497,349.71
  3. Treasurer’s Report December 2011

Motion carried unanimously.
JIM O’NEILL – REDISTRICTING INFORMATION
            County Attorney Jim O’Neill joined the meeting to discuss the redistricting process and time line.  Pipestone County must establish districts no sooner than February 21, 2012 and no later than May 1, 2012.  This is dependent on legislative districts being established first.  Consensus of the board and Attorney O’Neill to set a meeting of the Pipestone County Redistricting Committee for Monday, February 6, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room with an alternate date of Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 7:00pm.
FAMILY SERVICES AGENCY DONATION
            Motion by Tinklenberg, seconded by DeRuyter to accept a donation to Family Services from an anonymous donor in the amount of $500.00 with the purpose of serving those in need as per MN Statutes 465.03. Motion carried unanimously.
VIDEO RECORDING POLICY
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Miller, to extend the video recording policy to include the Road and Bridge Meeting on the first Tuesday of each month due to the change in location. Motion carried unanimously.

 

GOAL WORK SESSION
Consensus of the Board to schedule a Goal Work Session for March 14, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.
            Motion by DeRuyter, seconded by Miller to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.  Meeting adjourned at 9:42 a.m.
